How's the weather?
It rained here last night and I slept in it. Shit
waking up in the mud is the worst part. Ha, I even
did laundry yesterday and it is soaked and stained
from the dirty rain out here.
OK, no pity party today. As a matter of fact I'll
just send this to myself, which is what I inteneded to
do anyway.
This is meant to be a ledger of my experiences that
will lead to better things.
Alrighty Now.
11/27/04 Kicked out of the New Image shelter because
of my shower at 4:45 am. I really did not know that
it would be such a serious event. I did it because
someone who said that they had soiled their bed asked
me for some disinfectant. His story was that he had
not only showered earlier but also washed his soiled
clothes in the shower. Well, that was 4:30am. I got
in trouble from a "Staff" member for letting him use
"Pine Sol" to disinfect and finally clean his soiled
clothes (I thought he had no other).
Back to my story, A fellow volunteer had told me that
the last two shower stalls were available to
volunteers after hours "as long as we cleaned up and
left the shower curtains hanging up properly".
Needless to say the night before was a hectic waste of
time for my efforts. I fell asleep at nine, but was
supposed to be awake at ten to help the women with
teir baggage. (wow, what a concept... stay up late to
help women with their baggage).
As far as I can tell for now, the future of this
volunteerism is going to be fruitless because I could
spend just as much time standing in line for a shelter
(with no hassels... as a matter af fact I would be
catered to).
